Hi guys
i desperately need some help..

Today I finally updated my studio setup and became a Arrdvark Direct Pro 24/96 owner..(I had SBLive Platinum till today)

What is my problem? I think Aardvark users can help me most:))

There's a thing called "Patchbay" where out's and in's of the card are routed, including monitors and headphone's outs..

The second thing was that I've kept my Live card and want to run them simoultanouslly..How can I do that?

I've already installed Aardvark and Live is still running..And what happened? When I turned my monitors on there was a huge ammount of noise or hiss in the speakers..I still can't find out where it comes from...:(

Good news is that my Aardvark started to play but still those hiss is present..Is this a problem of some routing in Patchbay and what setup to make there?

Third problem, I used the headphone's out of the card for the singer in the cabin to monitor thru the headphones..What routing of the signal should I make to listen everything in monitors and in headphones?

Fourth, how can I link my Live to work together with Aardvark? I want to use my LIVE only for soundfonts..So my keyboard is connected with my LIVE via Midi in but there are no sounds from my LIVE..Help..What settings to make?

Fifth, When I reboot my computer it cracks painly thru my monitors ( Dynaudio).. What to make to avoid those shocks? Should I turn them off everytime I reboot? :(

P.S.Hardly waiting for your info cause I 'm desperate..

Thanx

Hey FUNKY I have the Aardvark 24/96 working alongside a SoundBlaster too. I haven't had any problems with hiss though and I am not sure where this hiss could be coming from with your setup. It could be anywhere in your signal path from the mic to the monitors. You may want to contact Ben Mullins at Aardvark tech support (bmullins@aardvark-pro.com) if you think it's most likely related to the Aardvark. Maybe someone else here can help with the question...

As for bringing the Aardvark and SoundBlaster together you can do that through just about any tracking program like CakeWalk, Steinberg Qbase, n-Track, or whatever suits your fancy. Just assign the Aardvark as a source to one track and the SoundBlaster to another, and hit record, etc. What program are you currently using to track to?

As for the heart tripping speaker pop when you reboot, yeah I get that too. You just have to remember to turn off your monitor amp before the reboot or hit the speaker by pass switch if you have one. Turning the monitor volume all the way down would do it too.

Hope that helps mon! :D

Hey FuNkY, I have a few mics which pass through an ART MP1 tube amp and the RNC compressor, into the Aardvark and I am using CakeWalk Express 8 (which came with my SoundBlaster Live!) for tracking. I haven't really used the soundfonts at all to be honest. I know some of the other guys and gals on this forum have. I have a humble setup, but it works for one guy recording acoustic guitar and vocals... on the listening end a pair of those beautiful Tannoy Reveals passive on a Samson Servo 120 stereo amp (cheep cheep) :D

Just want to mention though, I am having mucho problems with my Aardvark too, but I am not getting hiss, I am getting crackling sounds in my audio tracks. Supposedly this is due to the VIA chipset on my Athlon mother board. I am working with Aardvark tech support to alleviate the situation. The kicker, however, you won't believe. I was told by tech support that Samplitude, the software tracker that came with my Aardvark, is incompatible with my mother board!!!

In the mean time though I use my 8-track because it doesn't crash or crackle. Aren't computers great!?
