I have what may be a very simple question, or I suppose it could be fairly involved...here goes...
I am interested in some new drum machine/sampler software and I have been looking at "Drumkit From Hell - Superior". I know it sounds great and I have checked out the user demo on the website, but being completely devoid of experience working with any such software, how to use it is still not very clear to me. I see that it has it's own controller built in so it seems that I won't necessarily need any kind of MIDI controller, but what I don't understand is how exactly you go about programming the beats. I currently program drums on a BOSS DR-770. I know it is a totally different thing, but could someone relate the process of programming DFH to the process on the DR-770? Specifically, in the BOSS you can step through the programming one step at a time using a specific note value for each hit. Is this anything like how you program DFH? Also, do you program it inside of your DAW software or does it stand alone? Watching the demo I can't tell. That would lead me to wonder if I need software with MIDI capabilities because I currently use Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 3 which doesn't have MIDI functionality. I realize these may be totally moronic questions to some but I would appreciate it if someone had the time to help me out!
