is there a problem with my ceiling in my basement only being 6' 6" tall? does that effect the sound if its sound proofed? Its cuz its a floor then space then a floor... whats that called again?

Uh, a crawlspace?

What do you mean soundproofed?

The thing is the less ceiling height the sooner the sound comes back at you. The small room size will be giving the recordings a very boxy or tubby sound.

If you have carpet it will help a bit in the higher frequencies but almost every instrumens has content below 8k. Which is probably (a guess) the highest frequency that carpet or surface treatment will cut down on. So guitars, bass, vocals will all be boomy and as a result inarticulate.

Don't let that stop you though.

Thanx Man :) And BTW its my basement not crawl space... its cuz the a floor was made over the floor down there too stop moisture leakage into the carpet :) but i heard that the floor over the floor will help me anyways??? Is this true....

lol, 6'6? how tall are you if you dont mind me asking?
