So, yeah, I've been gone for a few weeks on a self and schedule-imposed hiatus... things are just nightmarish this time of year... but I did have SOME fun while I was gone. My new best friend, Jimmy Dacey, got a Zoom 606 guitar pedal and called me up and said "Ask me what I'm doing". I said, "Whattya doing, Jimmy?"

he said "I'm MAKING PORN MOVIES!!!"

And proceeded to demonstrate the pedal's wahwah...

weaow weaow, wackachicka wackachicka
weaow weaow, wackachicka wackachicka

After we died lauging I said "Dude, we HAVE to flesh this out and record it!!!"

And so we did.

Yeah...

It was purely for fun, it's not a release product or anything. :) And it was Jimmy's first time ever recording (he's playing all the guitar parts, I'm doing the drums, bass and keys) so the mix could be better..

But I think the Stevie Wonder clavinet ties it together, don'tcha? :D

Pretty true to the "art" form but it needs to be slower. :D
 
perfect porn music.......my only suggestion would be to add some moaning and slapping noises in the background to complete the tour de porn

hmmm.... I thought this fit better for a 70's cop movie than pornography.... the tempo was bit quick for porn... ummm... not that I'd know... :eek:

Either way, it kicked ass. It made me want to trade in the mullett for a fro, flaired collar, and a bell bottoms.

The left buzzy electric guitar solo was pretty grating on my ear, but the playing was cool.

When you told your buddy you wanted to flesh it out and record it... errrr... nevermind....
 
Yeah...

Several folks have made references to shows like Starsky & Hutch and S.W.A.T., and movies like Shaft...

The funny thing is, Jimmy thinks he sucks royal as a guitarist... I wanna hit him mostly. :)

Thanks everyone, for joining in the fun. I just love sometimes being completely goofy and just doing something for the laughs... :D

Indeed! Thanks! It *is* a significant and goofy departure from my normal fare though... :) We knocked it out in about 3-4 hours total... I appreciate the compliment highly, as will Jimmy... :)
 
Sounds like this was a blast. And that guy is no slouch on the guitar. I have to agree with the cop movie reference, I see 70s car chases and cops on motorcycles. ;) :p Mix sounds great to me, especially for just messing around. Nice job as usual, Rock on! :D

I know that the intent of this was for, um, porn, but this has such a cool groove to it, it actually sounds like you could really make something out of it...it is too "hi-fi" for porn ... now if you added some slapping noises and some other things, then maybe ...

I was totally getting into this groove, and then I remembered, "oh yeah, this is supposed to be porn music..." lol...

It seems that the "70's Cop Show" comments are pulling ahead of the "porn" coments in almost evey place I play this, we're thinking of doing a more down-tempo porn piece and adding horns or something to this and really going all-out cop show. :)
