Hi all. I have an Alesis QS 7.1 connected to my computer through an Aardvark 24/96 Direct Pro. OK. I've plugged everything up all nice and right yet. Cakewalk is definitely RECEIVING MIDI data from my keyboard, however...it's PLAYING back through my COMOPUTER speakers rather than my MONITORS!!! Also, in doing so, is using those 'generic computer sounds' so now all of my music sounds like a really bad porn soundtrack. I know that I have to do something in my control panel, and click and unclick some options in the Project and Audio menus in Cakewalk. But the question is ....WHAT? Could someone PLEASE HELLLP!!!

PRICELESS!!!

Alesis QS7.1...$1,000.oo

Aardvark DirectPro 24/96...$500.00

Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0...$0.00

Computer...$1,500

Throwing a temper tantrums, pressing buttons and getting all this stuff to work again...

PRICELESS!!!

Dude, can you send me some of that 70's porno music? I love that stuff

Hmm

Ok. Well im not too familiar with Aardvark Direct Pro card. But what ive read, it doesnt seem to do any synthesising. It only controls the midi. So, what it seems to me is you have some other computer sound card like a soundblaster AWE64 or live or something of the sort. The Aardvark is controlling the synthesis in that soundcard, and that is the only card that can output the synthesis, you cannot send it through the aardvark. You can still make it come out of your monitors if you have a mixer. Get a 1/8" to RCA stereo connectors (or two quarter inch stereo) and run that through you mixer, and run the mixer mains to the monitor. Other than that, your stuck with i that i believe. I might be wrong because i dont know all about your setup here but that is my first prediction of the problem

Darnold
