I wrote this on Remembrance Day last year and finally got the recording started. I am getting pretty close to a final mix but there's still a few issues with the string sound, drums and overall dryness. I wanted to fly it by you guys and see what else might be done. I'm kind of a one-man show so I have no one to blame for bad playing except myself haha.

The song is called "Heaven"

Cut the string sound a bit when the guitar starts. (Or not - see later comments.)

Reduce the effect on the vocal, whatever it is - bring the vocal forward more.

Think about backing vocals for the chorus at some point - it'll help it build.

Good song. The main problem is how it's disjointed. You have the Beatles string into, followed by some solo piano, and then neither of those things is repeated later on. The easiest way to pull it together would be to sacrifice the string part of the intro. Go ahead - play it starting at 0.50 - it hangs together better, right?

We're all veterans until we die. Then it doesn't matter. ;)
