I was listening to Foo Fighters new album, and on the Acoustic disc there is a song where they use the low C on the piano to accent the kick drum hit, and it absolutly makes my liver quiver. I had never thought of doing something like that before.

I've done some stuff like that using a piano. Pianos have such immediate attack that they're good for making changes in structure very apparent and 'thuddy'.

Much akin to using an 808 via sidechain as kick enhancement on rap songs.
