Hear about the new C214??

Interesting, but from my budget sensitive home studio perspective it seems kind of unnecessary when you can buy a used C414 (in pretty much your choice of model except for a brass capsule version) for the same amount or less.

Quite true. I'm just waiting for these to start going up on ebay in the 2-400 range hahah.

I've wondered the same thing. Why would I buy a C214 when I could have an old 414 for the same price? :confused:

Exactly. Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure I get AKG's marketing strategy on this one.

Have a C214.
Nice mic. [actually great mic]
It is new, not used. Not somebody elses old mic [although old mics can be great too].
Using it for vocals at this time.
