If you check the "files" on this site, you will sight many sightings of can talk -- lots of can talk.
Sophisticated engineers like me and Roel like the Beyer 770 cans. {heh heh}
Sony makes a plethora of cans and many on this site like them. AKG makes overpriced cans at the high end.
I'm awaiting a pair of JVC 900 hz "wireless" cans which will let me listen to my stuff through the walls and out of the door into my patio beer area. Also, many vocalists seem to enjoy wireless cans when they do their thing.
I have a pair of Koss wireless that I'm using now but the JVC cans will be much higher quality.
So, open a can of beer and sort out the stuff on this site to get in sight those cans that you might want.
I'm a big fan of Sony phones, mostly cuz I've got like 4 pairs of em.
I have the MDR-V500 DJ (very close to the 700's), they're my main set of phones for listening to music.
I used to use and older set of MDR-V7's for tracking because they had a little more high-end response.
That being said, I haven't tried the Beyer's. Just depends on your sonic preference.
I like AKG's alot, really clean sound, pretty comfy don't seem to pump out as much juice as the Sony's I have but as I said the sound is really clear which is top priority for me.
