I have an E-MU 1212m. I have these headphones and a while ago I bought a 1/8" female splitting into 2 female RCA plugs, then 1/4" TRS adapters on each plug so they would fit into my E-MU ... They worked fine and everything and everything was panning. Then they got a short in them ... then I bought a 1/8" female splitting into TWO 1/4" Male cables, and I plugged em in and when I pan my vocals or something they won't pan .. it's like they're mono ... why is this?

Then I went today to Guitar Center and tried to buy the same RCA splitter/TRS adapter, but on this splitter it had "Ring" and "Tip" on them and the guy said those wouldn't work .....

I know I should get the same splitters than I had that worked, but Guitar center ain't have em ....

So what would work?

Aight I'll probably get a headphone amp because doesn't that allow you to bump your headphones more? lol @ me using the words "bump" and "headphones" in the same sentence.

Will that headphone amp allow my playback to be in stereo, so I can actually hear the panning?

Thanks Bigwillz

Yeah the output of that headphone amp is stereo

just plug the left and right outputs of the card into the inputs 3 & 4...

make sure you buy 2 rca to 1/4 cables if you don't have them already.

I think a mixer would be a better option just because if you decide to get monitors in the future you could just plug them in...

edit: also make sure in patchmix software the output is set to -10.

I already have monitors, so I might get a mixer.

Thanks for the feedback.
