Suck 'em and see!
Are the Behringer units any good? HA4700, HA4800, what about the Samson? any others I should consider?

I don't need any more than 4 outs. At the moment whoevr's recording (vox, guitar) gets the main headphone out and I sit in the same room with the monitors off. I want the main mix for me and a mix where I can add a bit more guitar, bit more vox, what ever is asked for from the client.

All suggestions welcomed...on a budget......£80-100

The Behringer headphone amps are one of the few products that company makes that people seem to really like, based on what I've read here.

I didn't like the berringer for drums or Bass when the bass player was in the room with the drummer. I got some presonus boxes and they are much better sounding, not as flexable but better quality sound. I will be selling 2 of the berringer 4800 units very soon. They have been used 3 times. perfect condition, orig box, manuals etc.
I am also not thrilled with the Presonus box either, I am now looking at a Redco little red cue box www.redco.com for the Drummer and bass player and the presonus boxes will be fine for everyone else.

If you have an all electronic set-up, no real drum tracking etc. then the Berringers box would be fine.

Just my opinion

I have an HA4700. It works well. It has nice features like mono sum per channel.
The quality isn't as good as the headphones out on my Mindprint DI-Port for instance but for me it is good enough for monitoring.

I have the HA8000 cuz it has 8 headphone outs. My Drummer (s) have never complained. of course I use GREAT Quality Headphones too. Like Sony V6, V700 and V900
