i'm confused....is "writing a beat" generally some special talent? One drum rhythm and the same 2 chords over and over again. This is something people in hip hop and rap try and protect?? Maybe I just don't understand what the big deal is about "beats"
 
I'm confused too....

Let me see if I got this straight...

1.) You "wrote" a beat.
2.) Some other dude stole it, and added his vocals and production.
3.) You choose to post HIS work, not yours. (albeit w/ your "beats" behind him)
3b.) Dude says "He will kill you if you post it"
3c.) You post anyway.
4.) And HE's the "Bad Guy"???

I just don't get this thread.... It maketh no sense... Must be a Hip-Hop/Rap thing..... All the stealing and killing....

It sure ain't about "music"... :confused: :confused: :confused:

Its easy to import samples, place them and loop them.

Easy to adjust pitches times and rhythms.

Its an awesome program, I dont know why everyone disses it.

It has the 303 505 606 707 808 tonnes of drum machines already in it.

Fruity loops is good in ways but also bad in ways. I cant get studio quality with fruity loops which is a big down side.
 
I'll admit it does sound stolen. On the other hand it's also not very good, so you may want to get over it.

are you serious?? please i really would like to know why "beats" are so protected. the way i see it write two measures of drum beats with some bass notes in it and repeat it a 100 times. if this is something to hold high then tell me and i'll try and get the latin shuffle, or jazz swing, or even the waltz copyrighted in my name so no one else can use them and i can call them my beats.
 
In hip hop the "beat" is known as the complete instrumental track. Beat, Bass, and Melodies.
