I'm sorry, you must get this alot.. But why would my just purchased KB37 give me so much latency and choppy noise? It sounds horrible and it takes forever to play the note I'm hitting!! My computer specs are

Pentium 4
2.5 ghz
1 gig ram
rad 9800 vid card
motherboard sound card

Could it be the sound card? Also.. I'm using Guitar Port to control my sound, but since its not on or anything, I dont think that would be a problem... would it? Arrgg!! I wanna play with my new MIDI keyboard!!! Thanks for any help!!

Its not your KB37, it is mostly your computer configuration. First of all 2.5Ghz with 1G memory is not really a fast system to handle most of demanding jobs. You need more memory and atleast a 2.8Ghz system to handle Sonar well. You also have a pretty good 9800 videocard which will also use some memory on its own, so you are left with a very little for sonar to use.
The audio latency could also be a driver problem too. Just refresh all the midi devices and see if it works.

:) thanks bro.. I guess I'll have to wait to get a new system eh? :( Would you reccomend a Mac or a PC?

Woah there.

I run Sonar 3 on a 1.8ghz. I only recently have 1 gig of ram, I had half a gig before. I make very complex music and never had a problem. Unless you are running Sonar 5 or 6, you shouldnt have a problem. Check the buffer settings in Sonar.

I actually do use Sonar 6. Should I downgrade? Does all the VST's and everything work the same way?
