Having trouble Reason/ Midi controler

I have a cheap Yamaha PSR-500M that i want to use as a midi controller for Reason 3.0. I hooked up the midi in/outs to the midi input on my computer, and when i try to add it as a controller, it cant find it.

help.
 
hmm, are you sure its all connected correctly? These type of things are down to something small. Just make sure your midi cables are correctly fitted. Midi in to the midi out, and midi out to midi in.

If thats all sorted, try doing the following:

Turn your keyboard off
Open reason
Turn your keyboard on
Go to Preferences > MIDI > Port Ensure that your midi interface or controller is on there.

If thats all sorted, then i cant really understand why its not working apart from maybe faulty hardware?
