Having to peg all levels to get a decent sound

I've been hosting a few radio shows for the last year and a half. Last month I decided to upgrade some equipment. I went from using a Snowball mic, and no mixer, to a MXL R144 tube mic and a Yamaha MG10XU mixer.
Since then, all EQ settings, Gain, comp, and levels have to pegged to their highest setting, AND my Mixcraft software set +6 db to get a decent level.
Tube mic works great when plugged into my Yamaha PA, but something is fishy with the mixer to the PC. I should NOT have to have this thing cranked all the way up.

thoughts? btw- All of this equipment is 'new', bought from the store by me.

thanks,
Bill

Return it and try something else. If it is not broken then tell them you just don't like it.

Just a first guess...you don't have the 26dB pad selected on the mic channel you're using on your mixer do you?
