... but I sat down for several hours to play this morning. My fingers throb as I type this. Part of the repertoire I ran through included this piece ... which is kind of a bluesy shuffle ... and is one of the ones I can easily recall how to play.

Thanks to Stu Gort for his lead guitar and BGVs, Tjarko Busink on bass, Stan Brown on slide, and Frank Basile on drums.

I think I'm going to start putting a new unit together. I really had a blast running through things this morning ... even though I can't remember lyrics worth a damn.

It doesn't intro right in terms of sound, but it works in terms of rhythm. Plus it *is* a good guitar sound. Just mix it in ha ha.

Yeah ... it could also probably use a cowbell. :)

I'm going to post up Stu's and my new one at RP in a little bit.

Are Stu and Tjark still active at Rec PRo? I haven't had contact with them for years. Great guys.

Bass is a little rumbly on this. Real strong tho. Maybe roll off some low end and notch out somewhere around 80hz or so.

The vocal in the intro sound "disembodied" from the instruments. Like it's in a different spot. After things kick in it's not a problem.

Like the guitar sounds all a round. Drums sound real good too.

The verse that starts around 1:30 has a balance problem. THe lead vocal is covered by the BGVs through that short section. It clears up after about 30 seconds or so.

Stu's active still -- Tjarko is offline -- and we've not spoken in at least a couple years. I just u/l'd a new project there that Stu and I are working on. Thanks for the thoughts, Trip!

The different textures are cool but at times the whole songs drops a lot in intensity. I hope this makes sense. Performance is great as always...

Wow, Tjarko/Trojka, K-dub, Dobro, Triple-M, the whole old click of RecProject is here! :) Sounds fine to me. I like the background ooohs and aaahs best, they sound incredible. The composition is fine as well, the ending is very pro hehe. Don't care much for the lyrics.
