Suck 'em and see!
I listened to Sunday. Pretty damn good sir.

The youth are quite talented Lemon!! I have only listened to "Sunday" so far.

I like the intro feedback. I was expecting to hear it explode as in 'Back To The Future'!!! :D That little harmonic ker-ching by the bridge makes good for an intro sig. Was that intended?

Lyrics are very good!!

Vox are good and could maybe come up a tad in the chorus.

Great hook chorus!!! It always rains on sunday...it always rains on sunday...

Bass could be a bit more defined, but that is taste I think more than not. Good tight bottom end, drawing the guitar and vocals in to their place.

I dunno, it does seem the drums are a bit dry...the kick bass in paticuliar could come up a bit especially during guitar solos and the chorus. I like the cymbals, but they too could come up in volume during the solo and chorus. I am thinking this, because of the drive of energy this song has and the drums seem a bit distant. Hell, I don't know what I am trying to explain. Just something !!!

Beat is get up and rock the house!

Guitars sounds good.

Panning and volume on axes are great Alec!!

I ain't too crazy about the feedback tone in the middle of the song. An octave lower would be the ticket for my ears.

Great sustain-to-rain outro too. I love the tone on that guitar.

I have listened to this like 10 times already!!!

I would like to let some of the youth I know here, listen to them. I think Charlie Brown would get a quick following here. Send me a CD and I will get feedback. ;) I ain't kidding Lemon. I think these kids have it going on and you are helping to bring out the best in them. How old are they?

I love at 2:47 the build up to 3:00, then on to the chorus...'I'm always gonna be so high, gona reach for the sky' right into the outro...it rocks!!!!

Alec, you did a great job capturing the talent of these kids with your skills and I think it is wonderful that you give of your time and self to do these things with and for the youth.....you are definately one of my hero's and I mean that sincerely with my heart. Kudos!!! :)

Tell those kids granny said, "they rock thier arses off !!!!" :D

Listened to Sunday and it's very, very good stuff. I couldn't hear anything needing changing.

Listened to Miles Away and again, great stuff. There's a spot at 2:37 where you have a responsorial going on but you can't hear the lead section too well. Maybe pick up the vocal volume there a bit? Everything else going on, just fabulous. Nice work!

Thanks for the replys. Glad you liked it Track Rat, heard a lot of your work and coming from you that meant a lot.

True, you always go way out there to give me your views and I appreciate that to the full. You've been one of the few on here that has really helped me develop my mixing skills with your input.

NYMorningstar, thanks for your kind and helpfull comments too. I was tracking to 24track hard disk recorder and had no automation on the board at mixdown so yes, there are some volume automation issues I could have addressed better I suppose.

Thanks to everyone else who popped in and took the time to listen

Sunday.....Good tune man. Sounds well performed, and captured nicely. Guy has a cool voice. Sits well in the mix also. Drums have a good sound also....I hear them well in the song.

Miles Away....Nice capture of the acoustic. Nice bass tone. Adds good depth to the song.
Another cool tune. Well done. I like both of these songs.

Well done man....

Wow very cool stuff. Miles away sounds so nice on my system!
So when are you stopping by to record us? :D

dogman, thanks! I'm feeling myself that my mixing style is changing. True mentioned the drums sounding dry...... I went out there and listened and they were dry and I feel I caught it the way it was played...that's how they heard it playing and that's what they wanted.

Thanks for listening

Nice work......I'd buy that!!!!!

Can't believe that compliment, I recorded 8 songs from this band over a weekend. I'd be happy to drop you a CD for free if you pm me a postal address. That goes for you too True, you said you'd like to share it with the youth over there.

That's no excuse;) Me and the wife are thinking of heading your way on a vacation some time. Always wanted to visit. A singer from a band I know is going for the second time in 3 years soon. He loves it.

Anyway I've provided a formal invitation. There's really no way out of that with out a damn good excuse :D You don't want people thinking your all stuffy and unsociable do you?

See you soon;)

Good stuff man. keep it up!

Sunday.

Really nice rockin' track.

The open hats seem nice and real thin like they should. They're just a tad loud for my taste. And guitars in the intro are a bit low. I mean I would wanna hear the guitars more clearly and wouldn't mind them a little louder in the intro.

From 0:57 - 1:07 the delayed lead could come up and it'd be cool. :) It's cool just the way it is even now.

2:49 - 3:21 - It sounds like the lead is doing something, I can't hear it well. Maybe boost it. :)

At 4:14 for the outro, the guitar dist. fade, jumped in volume like a lot. I don't know if it's intentional but sounded like the tracking was fading then sort by mistake went louder and resume fading. :)

You tell those kids, if it was between nickelback and them, I'd go see their concert next time.

Great great job mixing, man!

:)

I'll be SURE to pass that on to them!

Reminded me a bit of Buffalo Tom - the lead line after the feedback intro is too insipid to match that intro.
Good recording & song every thing fits well & shows that it's been "played in" - just that guitar line that doesn't fit.Neitherit's tone nor the actula melody of it.
Oh, the chorus could use a couple of words too.
