Hi,
I have to boot my pc twice for it to see the midiman 4 x 4, then it works great. Any ideas??

new fast pc, intel, xp home, 1meg ram
cakewalk home studio 2002, midiman 4x4, usb connection (not midi)

if i leave the AC surge protector on to pc, then usb works fine, actually the usb light never goes off, even with pc off.

the problem occurs when ac surge protector is turned off, then need the double boot to get the midiman back.

Thanks for your help.

I have the midisport 2x2. It's powered by usb connection. Sometimes it doesn't get recognized on boot up. I just unplug the usb....windows sees that...then plug it back in...windows sees that too...works for me.

thanks fire,
yup, i that out too. i've been doing the unplug/plug for a while now and that's not too bad a deal. Lately, the darn PC has been turning back on by itself now. Not sure what's up with that.

That was an issue with older drivers. Are you using the latest one?

yes and no,
I got the driver online with this pc and transfered it.
the music pc is not connected to internet, so probably need to update that somehow.

You can go to the microsoft web site and download whatever SP you need, burn it to CD then install it on your music PC.....

If your running WinXP i know that SP1 addresses USB issues.

hey thanks.. of course... that's what I need to do.

xp home, i love it, cakewalk home 2002 seems to love it too.
