...to this short acoustic gtr piece.

Thinking of percussion, also bass, lead gtr - ac or el

Edit: Written and played by a gtr student of mine, high school age, who's been playing just a couple months. Recorded during a lesson. Interesting tune, I think, and could be filled out with an added instrumental line or two.

OK, here we go! This was a fun exercise! I hope your student like my interpretation! Probably not what he was expecting, but it is what it said to me... :) Oddly, I'm not a guitar player really, but keys were all wrong...

So, I added 2 guitars and a bass..

Tim's Student's Song Plus Phil

Sounds good! Nice job on the chord structure, you have made it into something.

I laid down some smooth-jazz keys. I will change the flute to a patch thats in tune :D tims students song

If we get more I will put up the keys alone.

Sweet, we got a Bob James thing going! :D The kid is probably a rocker, and we're gonna make him hurl, but I'm having a good time!

Phil! David! That's just too cool.

My student also has an interest in recording so it'd be great if I could get the individual tracks (mp3) from you guys to work with him a bit on mixing.

Many thanks. Great job on it!

Tim,

This is really nice and I have an idea or two. Any chance you could post a lengthier version to seek ones teeth into?

Look forward to hearing them!

Just this so far. He's working on a contrasting section so we can turn it into an ABA longer form, but that may be a couple weeks away.

Nice recorded guitar sounds there, Tim!
I know it is slightly off topic of the post, but for us recording geeks can you give us some quick details on the mic, placement, etc...

Thanks!

Id lay some drums down if I knew how to get them from the studio to this thread, my studio comp is not online but my household one is. Any help?

Put the wav file on a disc and bring them home.

Thanks amra. The chain was Yamaha laminated top acoustic > KEL HM1 mike 2 ft from neck/body joint, small live room > Tascam US122 pre and converter.

I like to use a USB memory stick for that.

You've got PM with links to my three files.

OK, I finally had a chance last evening to scribble all over your canvas with my purple crayon. Here's the result:

I had a lot of trouble finding the tonality of the piece. Just listened now to what Llarion and DavidK did -- I think they "got it" much better than I did. Maybe you can use the percussion tracks. Let me know if you want 'em.

Don

Excellent Don. Thank you. I like what you added with the organ, and the percussion is exactly what I had imagined would fit behind this. I'd like to get the mp3 tracks if I can. Can you PM links to me?

Hang on. I have to get someone at home to turn on the external disk drives....
