Thank you, Anawim for your honest reply. Maybe Toker could learn a thing or two from you. :p

I see where you're coming from, but if you listen to the non-sweepey meedley weeh weeh weeiuuh-stuff from Yngwie, you'll notice he is quite musical (although heavily borroughing (sp?!) from Richie Blackmore) and has awesome tone and vibrato... the slow-kind of vibrato, which is way harder to master than the fast vibrato's that a lof of 80's metal-hacks used (note that I like 80's metal. Ask Gidge and Lopp. ;) )

But his lyric-skills are among the worst ever ("I am a Viking..." )

I think Yngwie would benefit from a strap-on assfucking by Yoko Ono... maybe she'll hop in some left-over Lennon-ideas, which can help Yngwie write better songs...

Duh. I give up.

Way overrated... U2.

(I can't say I hate them...but I'm close) :D

N TRACKS etc

whaaaaaat? A great guitar player? Who said that? Let me know and i shall laugh as i am kicKin them squarely in the nuts for you!
Heheheh! Must be someone deaf to say that! Im a huge fan,but the fact that hes never done a guitar solo in his life kinda gives the game away huh? That was one of my ambitions as a lad actually.
To get he job of playing the lead parts ona Ramones album.
I always hope the would get me or Steve Jones in!OR BOTH!

HAHAHA...Ramones were overrated mate...always. They can be fun or sell tons, but I cannot stand people saying: "Johnny is a great guitar player" and crap like that... All the songs sound THE SAME...
(and don't get me wrong, I do not dislike 'em...just think they got too big for what they were)

And..."one...two...three...four!"

Peace...

PC

p.s: I do HATE the Rolling Stones. WAAAAAAAAY overrated.

hehehe

Well...I've heard that several times about Johnny...believe it or not...

Good 'ol Steve Jones was much more interesting...

"America"...yep, I agree.

Wow, I was just listening to one of their songs I added to my playlest yesterday, and it crossed my mind that nobody put them on "best lyrics". Anyway, that's another thread, I would have to add them (as much as I DO like them) to my suck list. They do have some of the best lyrics, however, some of them just plain suck. "...Alligator lizards in there air" WTF? It's kind of like Yes. It sounds super intelligent, and really deep, but when you really listen (or read), they lyrics are just stupid and don't really mean shit (i.e. "All Good People", WTF does any one line mean in that fucking song???). Hippie dippie tree hunging crap. I use to love them 20 years ago, now I can't stand to hear them.

Five pages deep into this thread... pretty hard to add to the list~

I don't remember anyone saying that Neil Young sucks... well, he blows chunks.

He can't sing... and it's hard to believe CSN brought him into the band to play LEAD guitar.

At least Lynyrd Skynyrd tried to set his ass straight.:D

hate

NEIL YOUNG!
Of COURSE!
I forgot aboot him! Well said,,he is indeed SHITE!

I LOVE (BIG FAN) half of the stuff Neil has done, but the other half just plain SUCKS!

i have to agree. they were good in concert when i got a free ticket but im not a fan. i always HATED the was Watts misses out the hi-hat beat when he hits the snare.
Always looked like he just learned to play immediately prior to the gig!

I always had this opinion whilst growing up and learning to play drums myself. Later on, I'm told that this technique is related to recording. Apparently the snare will cut through better if it is not competing with other sounds (especially the frequency range of the HH). I wouldn't begin to know if this is true, but it seems reasonable and plausible.

He does keep a consistent groove and I suspect he plays a big part in the Stones vibe. The Stones are really a state of mind and attitude anyhow.

Hate is ultimately boring but always sexy in the short run; I can see how this thread remains a quick and cheap thrill for so many.
