Has anyone ever used one of these?

No, but they look extremely overpriced for all they are. You could probably build your own recording computer for less than one third of that. It doesn't need to be ultra high end either depending on what you want to do with it. But then, I don't want to open a can of worms here.

Everybody on this board will have a different idea of how good is good enough when it comes to recording boxes. I would spend some time reading reviews, magazines, and such about computer and hardware performance. It could be a real eye opener. Wise men tend to invest more into knowledge than equipment.

I guess the big money is in the crashed UFO parts they use to cool the thing with no fan.

Yeah, but they say that the only noise their systems emit is hard drive noises.........................which are WAYY louder than fan noises and are more easily picked up by sensitive mics.

Too much money... I picked up a Carillon Core 1 system for $1,500 new, I thought that was a lot of money, but I've been very happy with it... It's not fanless, but it's so quiet you can't even tell it's turned on...

The parts in that computer come out to under 1500 dollars.
And since they are tooting their horn as a recording computer builder i'm going to rip them apart here.

They should give you two drives, one for the main system and one for data.
they should be using something better than delta (imo)
They should not be using a 64bit processor (imo, for backwards compatability with other software)
At that price you should get more than 1 gig of ram.
You want stability and I would use an Intel board which would mean an intel processor. (dont get me wrong amd is fine but sometimes the via chipsets can be flakey...i havnt done too much reasearch on the motherbord they picked tho)

Price is way inflated.
I have a similar system that i only spent 900 to build.

Ohyeah....and their website sucks. Very unprofessional especially if they are trying to sell a product.
