Does the mic in the attached pic (it is an old AWA......Amalgamated Wireless Australasia), look similar to any "known" vintage mics. Is it likely to be ribbon or LD.

Comments please.

Thanks Michael..............it is currently on Ebay (Australia), but I don't know that it is worth considering for our studio.

Depends on what they're asking, I suppose. It doesn't look in too bad of shape, but looks can be deceiving.

The thing with vintage ribbon mics is they take a LOT of clean gain to drive them, so unless you have a top notch mic pre, you're probably better off shopping around.
