Harvey is even being quoted at Ebay

Nah, that's what I said in my original review of the V67G, and since I posted my review on rec.audio.pro, I guess anyone is free to use it.

Marshall Electronics DID contact me to ask my permission to use the 603 blurb in their print ads, which I freely gave. Somebody here pointed out that Musician's Friend picked up that 603 quote in their on-line catalog.

The whole thing strikes me as very funny - quoting someone that nobody has ever heard of, working in a studio that's a converted doublewide mobile home, in the middle of nowhere, in North Texas.

True, I have some old impressive credentials from about 30+ years ago, but certainly not today. But, what the hell, it's their nickle, and how they choose to spend it is up to them.

I think I'm also quoted on FMR Audio's site about the RNC, but Mark McQuilken is a little crazy anyway. I'm also on Millenia Media's website between George Bensen and the guy that does Counting Crowes.

It's a crazy business; go figure.

But you're a folk hero, Harvey!

Folk heros are usually based on real people. In my case, I think it's based on a myth-take (excuse the lisp and the pun).

Hey, I'm not actually complaining; at least I get in to the AES shows and NAMM for free. :)

Yeah I saw that ebay thing and was going to bid on that mic but now that EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT IT!!!

Guess I'll have to pic one up from Sam Ash.

SORRY.:(

But you can get a V67M if the color don't bother ya.

Same mic, different color of dress.

Peace,
SoMm

No harm done. I am just a cheap skate and wanted to save $12.

You know, I've never read a post of Harvey's where he was anything less than courteous, patient, polite and considerate. I think that, and the fact he's so willing to share his knowledge and experience, is why people respect and - dare I say it - love him so much. Let's face it Harvey's the George Bailey of Pro-Audio (that's meant to be a compliment, btw). In fact I wish I had kids so I could get him to baby-sit them. A true Gentleman! I raise my glass to you sir! And, yes, I'm sure he has his dark side too. Don't we all!?

The way I see it, people who are interested in buying condenser mics aren't really gonna be customers for my studio in the middle of North Texas.

But I guess it's kinda cool to see your name in print (unless you happen to be Phil Spector).

Don't fool yourself, the 603 add will be good for business, and if I was in Texas I'd record at your studio in a heart beat.

Its going to be cool when they park a dumptruck full of cash in front of your house just to get a picture of you with thier product.

8th Street has the MXL V67G for $129 --- including a shockmount and a Mogami mic cable............. end of Feb I'm picking up at least one if they're still at that price!

Thanks, I'm on it. I actually have a source on the 67VB at $89. No cable though.

Harvey, you need to get an agent and parlay your standing in the industry. You know, endorsements, appearances maybe a Harvey Gerst restaurant in New York. I'm thinking another source of revenue and you can add a third trailer, maybe upgrade your consoles. Hey, I'm serious. Well, maybe not the NY thing but hey how about Dalhart, Texas?

Just a thought.....
