Harmonica

I'm looking for some tips on mixing harmonica. I recorded some songs for a friend of mine yesterday and she played harmonica on a few of them. I've never really experimented with mixing it before so I was looking for some advice. Anything will be helpful, (Compression, EQ, Effects, etc.)

If it's crossharp, blues or rock style, I've never heard it recorded without lots of reverb on it...seems to go with that lonesome, plaintive kinda thing...

Just testing - wouldn't let me reply in this forum anywhere... seems to work now.

I use a good amount of reverb on Harmonica. Try a tremelo or vibrato pedal for a subtle leslie effect.

For a more blues, overdriven sound;
Play the harp into a microphone and small guitar amp on TEN.... Put the amp in another room to avoid feed back. Mic the amp and room sound and run this into the recorder. You will get natural reverb from a garage or live room!
