During one of my more desperate home-recording moments (and ther ehave been a fucking lot of desperate home-recording moments), I got a Harmonica in G for a song in Bb and tried to pitch shift 3 semi-tones up in Cubase. Worked surprisingly okay in the end.

Do you mean when the song was over it was okay? Oh......you recorded it--nevermind! :p

You will always use a harmonica that is the 5th of the key anyway. If the song is in G, use a C harp.

That's the fourth,D is the fifth.
G-C-D=I-IV-V

To be fair, C is a 5th down. So technically, a 5th from G is either D or C. But the dominant of G is D, yes.

If somebody calls out a one four five, that's what I go by.

BTW,I just jammed along with the CD and it is in fact a G harmonica.I used to play the song in a band when it first came out.
