I guess it would fit better in this topic.

My group is covering Last Dance with MJ. That's in G,but my Harmoncia is in C. Anyway I can pull this off? :D

No, he has a "harmoncia." That's a totally different animal. :D

Oh, I thought that was just Mexican for harmonica.

:D

Rich606, you're not getting much help here, are ya?

(Psssst.....let me tell you a secret. Neither me nor notCardio have a fucking clue as to whether or not you can use a C "harmoncia" for a song in G.)

Always the IV of the root for crossharp(blues).

You need a G if you play it Amin,G,D.
I just went downstairs and played the two.

Just don't hand yourself your own ass. You know how confusing that gets. :D

You're golden as long as you don't hit the F while on a G chord. If you do it accidentally, shift down to the E and continue. Shouldn't be too much of a problem. But harmonicas are cheap, so if you can get to a music store, then get one in G.

The way a harmonica is laid out,you get different voicings on different keys, kind of like fingerings in guitar scales. The root note is always blown,so it's not in-out-in-out as you blow through the entire scale.

What I'm saying is...get a G-harp. :D

Turn it upside down when playing.
Or stand on yer head.

Seriously get a G harp. How much is that gonna set you back?

Won't work dude. :o

Then again, Bob Dylan was pretty much outa key with his harp, so.... :D

If you sit down and plan what you're gonna blow, you should be okay. However, if you just stand up and go for it....it could get ugly.

Good luck. :)

During one of my more desperate home-recording moments (and ther ehave been a fucking lot of desperate home-recording moments), I got a Harmonica in G for a song in Bb and tried to pitch shift 3 semi-tones up in Cubase. Worked surprisingly okay in the end.
