Hey guys I haven't been paying attention to interfaces in the past few years so need some suggestions.

Ideally, I need a high-end 16 in/16 out with line inputs (don't need mic pres) with good AD/DA that's portable. I don't need any DSP crap ..fairly no frills. I'd love to stay in REAPER so ASIO support is a must. I'm open to suggestions.

Currently using Yamaha N12. Thinking about maybe adding another but not sure how well that works yet.

Thanks for any ideas.

From the yamaha website: "Once the software has been installed all you need to do is connect the n8 or n12 mixer to your computer's IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port via a single cable and you're ready to record!".

So the N12 has its own inbuilt firewire interface. I'm not sure what your requirements are. On the face of it, you don't need an interface. If you need extra channels, sell the n12 and get an Allen & Heath Zed R16 which will give you the sixteen that you are after.

Thanks. I should have clarified. I currently use the N12 but need more channels. The N12 is limited to 12 and doesn't have any digital I/O, which would be nice so I could use other AD/DAs.
