I am putting a new sound card in my computer today (Delta 44) and my computer is 1.8 gig with a 5400 rpm hard drive. Running windows xp.
Now I have a 7200 rpm hard drive form my old computer that got very little use but it is 4.5 years old and was in a windows 98se system.

My question is if I try and put it in my newer computer will it work or will I have all kinds of driver problems with the 7200 rpm hard drive?

Thank you for your help.

The age factor is the only thing I'd worry about. I had a 7200RPM Western Digital hard drive die on me after only 2 years of fairly heavy use.

It will work just fine, but as has already been mentioned, the age is the only question. It will probably be just fine. Drives dying within 2 years is either a sign of extreme use or just a bad drive.

Just so you know, most hard drives (especially internal ones) don't use drivers, Windows just natively supports them.
