Hi everyone!

I reed somewhere, that to have the best performance on Nuendo or any other DAW's is important to have at least three HD setup:
1 to run the OS and DAW programs
1 to run VST plug-ins
1 to record and save projets, and store wav files

Is that true? Is that the way to go?

Here is my setup:

Nuendo 3, 2 firepods, Pendium D 3.0 , 3GB RAM, 1 hard drive 250 GB SATA....

Right now I'm doing everything with one hard drive I'm thinking to add 2 more HD (1 for Recording, and 1 to run VST plug-ins), but I need you help, what do you guys think?

I'll appreciate a lot any help!

Thanks in advance.

for the VST's it would depend on what you are running. If you're using massive samplers that do a lot of disk streaming, then yes I think it would help to have those on a separate drive. If its a synth or smaller sampler then I don't think that would matter too much, but definitely keep the audio recorded to a separate drive.

By The Way, I noticed you are using 2 Firepods. How's that working out, have you run into any problems using them together? I was considering doing this at some point.

Thanks Peritus for the link, that gave me some idea...

Thanks also to you cawhite 12, I'll definately will add an HD for recording...
About the VSTs I will not use any massive samplers or anything like that...

I'll use only effects plug-ins (reverbs, eq, delays, compressors, etc..) do you think it will be ok to leave the VST installed on the same Hd of the OS and DAW?

The two firepods are working great for me, I had some problems in the beginning, because I didn't install the last updated drive that I downloaded later from the website. Also I had to make some setup modifications of my DAW to make it work smooth... I called the tech support, and they were great help step-by-step on my problems... But now everything is great so far... accept this HD thing that I would like to do right....
