hard drive noise

How do I eliminate the hissing noise that is produced by my laptops hardrive on my recordings? Should I get a sound card or external mixer or mic preamp? All of the above? Right now I'm just recording an acoustic guitar and vocals I'm really only looking for demo quality. Just need some tips.
 
It would be easier to answer if you could expand on how exactly you're recording right now, meaning what is connected to what. Regarding your second sentence... I am kind of confused about it, if you don't have a sound card or a preamp, then how are you recording your guitar and vocals (presumably using a mic). Plus, what makes you think it's the hiss from your hard drive and not from your...er... whatever it is that you're using to get the sound into the computer in the first place?
