Hard Disk Recorder

I am about to upgrade from my old analogue system to a hard disk recorder. been looking at the ZOOM MRS1608 which has an unbelievable spec. Having said that does anyone have any views of the best buy/spec in this price range (£500 sterling) as my product knowledge is not as good as it used to be.

I have and heartily recommend the Yamaha AW16g. There's nothing wrong with the Zoom model you're looking at, but for 150 pounds more the Yamaha is better built and better sounding. It has a loop sampler, but not the drum machine and it has only two XLR inputs. Here's where I found it for the price mentioned. But don't buy it on my say-so alone. Go to a store where they have both and compare them side by side.
