Hello:

I've been looking for a carrying case to put my mini mixer (Yamah MG 10/2). However, all the cases at GW seemed overpriced. The cheapest thing I could find was $99.

I found this one on e-bay which looks like it would work for my dimensions for $40.00.

Any ideas why I should not go with this case? It looks pretty good, my only other option is making my own out of spare plywood that I have laying around.

Anyone have a good source for cases? All the Road Ready seem to be $99 or above.

i see no reason not too...personally I've been looking for something to carry most if not all my mics in and that would work for that too....buy it...i would

I have found pretty much the same case at Home Depot. I've got four.

dude...did you see that diced foam pack? you remove the foam dices to create your own cavity in that S.O.B. ...I'm putting this place on my favorites and I'll be buying from them soon..

......home depot? are you serious? how much?

so you bought that husky carry case?$20 bucks...but it doesnt have that diced foam padding

ok you can do a search for diced foam and some online stores have it....theres actually an efoamstore.com....amazing

The case I got was $30, and you are right- it did not have that diced foam in it. It was exactly the same case as on ebay besides that, though. That efoam place looks pretty wicked.

That link you put up didn't go to a specific case, but was it the Husky thing? I got one of those. It's OK, but sharp cutting edges. Still, it has gone six years or more of brutal use. The one Dracon linked to is nicer. Those, like I said, I got at HD for $30 a few years ago.

The diced foam is worth the $10, if you ask me. Plus no waiting to see if HD brings those cases back.

I'm for sure putting that case place on my favorites list, too. Thanks, Dracon!

yeah i know, i took it off.....home depot seems to be a punk about not having direct links. but thats fine.....i know what the hell I'm looking for and thats all that counts....I'll be picking up a few of those but damned if I'm not on a diced foam kick......i gotta find that somewhere in town hopefully

That case on ebay is nicer and worth the extra $$ over the $20 Husky, even if you find do-it-yourself diced foam cheap.

must factor in shipping costs of the cases and it might come out about equal. i dont need the case to shine....i just need it to protect my mics.

Wow! Are you guys on Caffeine or Something?
I was expecting the oposite response. People telling me that's crap, don't go with that you'll regret it.
I'm sure the one's at GW are much more rugged, but I can by two of these and still have money left over to buy lunch for the week. I'm not going to carry my equipment all over the kingdom and back. I'm just going to use mine to store when I move, so that they'll protect my equipment. Aside from that I don't give a rats ass if they get scratched. That's what they are for.

I guess I'll buy two. One for my Mixer and one for my mic/s.

well i have a makeshift studio in my room and at a buddy's house so i port some of my equipment back and forth....but i dont have any actual storage aside from the pouches they come in....one of those would do me nicely...2 - 5 would be perfect so i can mark them by mic or by application lol or mic and application....thanks for starting it up. i was debating building a mic cabinet for storage....i'd just need to sit in on one of those home depot "how-to" sessions

one of those things comes up to $56.24 factoring in shipping and insurance...and i think i want 4 or 5.....

That is the same case as sold at Lowe's for $19.95.

I bought 1 from that guy on ebay for about $30+shipping, then saw it at Lowe's for $19.

Inclides diced foam, partitions, strap, etc...

Good deal for mics, etc... :D
