Hand of Shiva - new tune I just wrote

After listening to your various versions, I am liking the first mix the best for this style of music.

Awesome Tune!

Thanks for the listen.

I maxxed out my pc working on this tune. :D

processor maxxed out to 100% several times and started screwing up.

Got a new mobo, dual core chip, 2gb, DDr3, super fast machine on the way.
I'll get back on it later next week with the new machine.

Wow, this is really good intense movie soundtrack material. Holy war kind of shit to be sure. I love it, and I can see the movie montage of scenes to match (Think movies like Munich). It's the kind of music that evokes a certain emotional response that you want from the audience when things are coming to a boil, and everyone is about to throw down and die for their cause. Don't know if that's the way you intended it, but it's what I hear. Nice job.

Thanks for the listen. I definately felt like it was a movie soundtrack while doing it.

The middle breakdown part has been fixed/re-done and sounds way better but I won't be able to remix it till the new computer parts arrive next week.

Yet another mix and hopefully the last one. The old compter was maxed out and stuttering bad during playback, and so I could not complete this project. I just finished the middle breakdown section in the song.

I just got a new dual core hot rod computer up and running that will do 4+ ghz without breathing hard.

New system:
Dual core 3.16 ghz wolfdale chip with 6mb L2 cache, 1333 buss
ASUS mother board with automatic overclocking feature that will throttle the whole system voltages/cpu/fans up and down according to demand. It will overclock way past 4 ghz if needed.
2gb super fast DDR3 Corsair ram running at buss speed of 1333
3gb / second SATA drive

Here's mix #6

Well hello again there True.

Yeah, I do write, but only guitar instrumental crap that I like. :D
Not a very popular genre any more except for guitar guys, and you of course.

I have another one that I can't quite get all worked out yet.

This one came off pretty easy.
Only about 12 hours of computer time on this one.

Still have that zep tune in mind for you someday. :)

see ya
I suppose this is a really really slow response to your post EL.

Yah...guitar instrumental crap is sweet to me!!!

I favour Mix# 6...but...

The intro on this one, sorta eats up the guitar. Perhaps a little volume adjusting...? IMHO, I feel the other instruments should backdrop/wraparound the axe and showcase it...allowing it to be the leading passion of the song right from the start, whilst combined with the other great sounds. If it were to gradually expose itself during the intro, it would be cool...but instead it just seems to be overpowered. Just my own tastes I guess.

1:47(the tease)...this is good...lots of energy here and some steady buildup.

2:18(the caress)...love the lead here a lot..the intensity of the song all lies within the caress!!! The tone is dark, dangerous and erotic....you go from an energetic tease to lingering intense carress... then go in for the kill(almost)...going into the tease again..onto the finish....although, I was hoping for a more intense mid-outro..right after the last teasing caress...you know...an explosion, then onto the afterglow you finished with...sorry..I get sex and music mixed up sometimes..:D:eek:

Awesome tune EL!!

I didn't think you would forget...;)

Great tune EL34~

That was a really good listen!, I love the way you blended all
instruments together in a way that every part stands out by itself!

I absolutely love the way you ended the song too.

Do you play solo or in a band?? I would love to hear some more material
if you have available.

I have listened to the song 3 times already and going for the 4th one :D

Great writing and guitar playing, this is coming from a fellow guitar player.

The dual lead guitars altogether with the mode of the song
reminded of Cacophony :D

I also play in a band, if you are interested in checking it out

Rock on,
Jose

Hey, Thanks so much all.

True, always love your comments. The comparison to sex works for me. :)

I had to get away from the tune for a couple weeks, I had listened to it way too much. I'll have another listen and see if the intro needs some work.

BTW True, did you see this one?
I love this experiment.

Venejer jose, I don't play in bands any more. Haven't for 15 years or more.

I live in the mountains of NC, USA just messing around with music for fun. It's just one of about 10 hobbies I have and so I don't spend that much time on music.

I'll check out your link.

Here's a page on my web site with 50 or so songs, short amp sound clips, gear test, etc
I wrote several tunes and they are listed on the page below.

I like the latest mix best, and I should have posted sooner. I waited until now so I could also address a somewhat OT aspect earlier in the thread. I'm back in Pune, India right now, and I just went to a music store -- they had a mixture of indian instruments and western instrument knockoffs (Givson and Hobner guitars, I kid you not), and a couple of amps and other effects and stuff like you'd see in any store in the USA -- very small place.

I'm a little bummed, because stuff was pretty cheap, but all I can pack is the very small stuff that will fit in my suitcase (couple of bamboo flutes, noisemakers, etc. - each appears to be "indian" (usually by way of a logo or other statement) and the guy said they were made locally or thereabouts) - they had a bunch of sitars and tablas, but there's no way they'd make the trip home (and I didn't ask about shipping).

I've renewed my resolve to prepare a response to your song -- I'll definitely include the the little instruments, but it looks like I'll be falling back on some samples.

Cool man.

The Sitar I bought in New Delhi in 1976 and brought back with, actually sat in the seat next to me all the way back to New York.

They wouldn't let you do that these days. :D

Can't wait to hear your tune.

I remixed Hand of Shiva a while back and forgot to post the last mix
I added a center break section and a bunch of other small things to the mix

If you don't want to download it, you can just go to this page to play it.

Me chef, you were asking about the Tanpura sound that I used in hand of shiva.

I uploaded the loop that I chopped up
