NL5

Unpossible!
For those using RME Hamerfalls for I/O -

Is anybody using two cards? With Cubase? I want to have 32 channels out and 8 effects out, so I need 3 more adat outs. just wondering if another RME is the answer.

Thanks.

RME cards should cascade, I think. All the HDSP stuff should play nice together, although you MIGHT have to deal with two TotalMix windows. (not sure about that - try the RME forum for a specific answer straight from the horse's mouth)

I'm still trying to figure out why you need 32 OUTS though...

Not sure why that's confusing - most studios run way more channels than that. I currently use 16 channels to the board, and 8 for effects, but plan on getting a 32 channel (or more) console very soon.

You can run up to 3 cards together.

Let me know how that works out for you NL5 if you do run two cards together.

Rme says you can use multiple cards, but I two am interested in how well it works when multiple cards becomes a reality and not a spec;) What I really want to know before I do the same thing, is what does not work well in this situation?
