im looking to buy a mic for my guitar. i plan on using 2 behringer c2s for the acoustic bass and second guitar in our recording proect, and now i need one for mine.

I am tempted to buy another pair of c2s for mine (maybe micing in stereo?)

i have read lots of bad stuff about the c2 and lots of positive stuff too. i have just recorded a classical guitar piece and it sounds lovely, yes a tiny bit noisy (slightly more hiss than other more expenisive mics) but it captured then overall tone and shape well. my only concern that if most of the band are being recorded with this mic it may become "too" noisy?

I have about 90 quid

most of the guitar work is fingerstyle

cheers

If you had the budget, I'd say go for a Shure SM-81. . .
As it is, you may be able to find a used SM-137 for around what your budget is. The Samson C02 condensers are nice as well, but new they may be a little bit above your price range.

Good luck

Just bought a used Oktava MK-012 for $100. They sound excellent on acoustic sources. A pair in X/Y is even better. They are not hard to find. There are used ones for sale everywhere, just make sure you get the real Russian made ones and not the fake Chinese model. Google "fake Oktavas". There's tons of info on spotting the fakes. If you want it to sound even better, get the Michael Joly mod. It's worth it.

That's not much of a budget. The SM81 does well on strings with a respectable low end. AT4033 might also suit your needs, but both are over budget. Even at used prices. MXL990? MXL603? probably not ideal, but maybe on budget.

I have yet to find a better value than the AT3035...$50 if you can find them...Ive also bought the AKG2000b for arround the same price...it would be my second choice.

Go to youtube and just enter AT3035 as a keyword and listen to the videos people have made with them....you will see them used as overheads and allmost any other pourpose.
