recording this on a porch out in the countryside last week...

'52 Gretsch. Just four mikes using the Glyn John's method. Unbelievable sounding kit, great recorded sounds & a great player as well. All brushes for this album, left handed & playing open hand.

Did sound for them at their thank you gig at the local village pub on Friday night. Didn't need much re-enforcement, that's for sure. Sounded huge with sticks.

I bet I would love those drums. Almost looks like a stop sign small tom and a Rogers snare.

I wasn't sure what you meant by playing "open hand" - do you mean playing with just his hands and no sticks?

I think he meant that the drummer leads with his naturally un-dominant hand.

I've never heard that called "open hand"... doesn't make a whole lot of sense but who knows, maybe you had to be there. :)
