I plugged my DP-01FX into an outlet to to do some recording. I noticed a strange static noise any time I would pull my finger up from a button (or anywhere on the unit for that matter). You could see that the noise was causing the meters to jump so it wasn't something like faulty headphones. I unplugged the unit and plugged it into another outlet and it worked fine. I was plugging it straight into a grounded outlet so there was no 3 prong to 2 prong converter or anything. Like I said I got it fixed but what was causing it to make strange noises like that only when fingers were being lifted off the unit?
 
A grounding issue for sure. Where? You'd have to do some trouble shooting for an answer. Obviously it has to do with the outlet you were plugging into. You can get an outlet tester at most any hardware store that you just plug in and has idiot lights on it that will indicate if the out is wired wrong or if the groundis floating.
