i have cubase sx and would like to connect my acoustic guitar in to it what is the best way to do it

It depends on your soundcard and it's inputs. Since you don't list what you have, the best general info is:
If you have an acoustic/electric find a way to plug it into your soundcard.
If you have just an acoustic you will need to mic it and have the mic plug into your soundcard or a mixer that is connected to your soundcard. Depending on your mic selection you might need pre-amps and the like.
