They're all a little different, each one special, and each has its own uniquely endearing attributes.

And they all have those little things that irritate you.

Funny, though - I've had a couple of my guitars over 35 years, and I haven't kept any lovers that long! :D

Now.... If could make, repair and sell lovers I'd be a much richer man:rolleyes:

...and you can feel 'em up any time you want....

Thinking about it and that other thread we're ranting at each other in. Guitars are more like kids really.

You love em to bits and each one the same. They let you down regularly and you can't get them to do what you want but you are always proud of them. Eventually they come good for you if you look after em right. ;)

How's that?

I like it. :)

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now. I'm gonna go home and hug all my guitars.

And ground the kids. :D

i like the kid anology better, because you dont ever lend your kids out for long periods of time. but i guess you dont lend your lovers out either, but if you had to lend out your wife or your kids, i bet most would pick their wifes

...and Muttley, in case you're wondering, on this side of the pond "to ground" your kids means to restrict their privileges. ;)
Yeh we got that here too. In this house it's known as the "sin bin". But I like the analogy with guitars. Its meant to make them sound better with less irritating humming, buzzing and whining..

Much as I love the Poisoned Bride, I'd trade her in before the kids...... or the guitars if I think about it.......

Nah I got a good one she's my Goddess and after 20 years I'd probably miss her..:D

hahaha

well im not married, just a girlfriend, but if im trying to play my guitar or work on someting music related, the thought of trading her in may have crossed my mind if she is trying to make me watch something stupid on tv or make me clean or take out the trash:D

I have 12 children whom I love dearly, I spend as much time as possible with them, I try not to have favourites, they are all unique in their own special way. They mean the world to me!

Oh..............and I have two kids and a wife! :D

Anyone ever notice that getting a new guitar is just like falling in love again? But it's better because you don't have to give up your former love!

Seriously, I've kept the same wife since 1988 and a couple of guitars since 1980 and none of them are jealous of the guitar I fell in love with about 6 months ago. I just have to remember to caress all of them from time to time.

After I proposed to the Poisoned Bride and gave her the trinket of a ring that was all I could afford at the time, before she accepted she took the time to find out a few things about what I admired and really excited me. She asked all my friends what "thing" would make me happiest and two weeks later presented me with a D'Aquisto New Yorker she'd bought blind. She was sssooo upset she couldn't afford a D'Angelico!! I married her that year before she got away from me. Two months later we sold it to pay for the deposit on our first house. I still have her though and thats what matters. How can you not love a girl like that.
