Okay. So I just bought my first Guitar World issue in about 6 years. My God! Its like reading the manufacturers website! Zoom or Digi-something has a thing where you can download presets for your EFX unit that fit the songs transcribed in the issue?!?!?! So much for just showing a schimatic of their rig.......

I am soooo disapointed...............

Someone out there needs to make a Gitar Mag for the kiddies that isn't a whitewash. I would, but I don't have the time or funding to start a magazine company.

(oh well, the only reason I ever bought them before was for the tabs...I don't read the articles:D)

I subscribe to Fingerstyle and Acoustic Guitar and frequently buy Guitar World Acoustic. I like all three of them. I subscribed to Guitar For the Practicing Musician (now Guitar One) for years until they went heavy metal wacko. I also used to get a mag called Guitar Extra, acoustic theme, very good but no longer available. Guitar World never did do much for me.

The best guitar magazine I have ever read is an english one called "Guitarist" it comes with a CD that has product demo's,lessons and music by contributers. You can find it at bookstores like Barnes and Noble.
My second favorite is Guitar Player.I have subscribed to Guitar world in the past but found it a bit juvenile and flavor of the day.

Is that the mag that Adrian Clark contributes to? I met him in England at a UK Music Guitar News Group National Piss Up, he's a top guy and very good guitar player. I can't find that mag here in Australia. :( It's the only guitar mag I'd ever want to subscribe to.

Wanna buy my old Guitar Player mags? I've got 'em going back to '67.........a bunch of Frets mags too.

It's too bad it's all about ads and no content these days.

Philboyd............

I may be interested in your Frets. What issues and how much?

I agree that they current mags are pretty much all ads and not much content. I can not justify paying $5 for a bunch of ads and the lessons in the mags are pretty much worthless.
