Guitar VST Help

Hi All,

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm only really starting to get to grips with MIDI technology (yes I know I'm late to the party).
Can anyone recommend a good quality electric guitar VST, and also one for strings? I have downloaded a few VSTs for strings and thus far they all sound very murky and mixed up.
While I'm posting, could someone explain the difference (remember I know very little so please don't blind me with big words!) between a guitar VST that, as far as I understand it, creates the guitar sound, and a 'guitar pre amp' VST.
Many thanks.

vir2 electri6ity.

I picked it up last year. Its the prettiest horse in the glue factory. :D

Here is their website.

Go to the samples on the left side and pick Famous riffs. This will give you an idea of what can be done with the right amps, programming, time, effort and talent of which I have none.. :D

Its not cheap, but you might find some use for it.

they have an acoustics product coming out this month that should be equally as good/bad/ugly as Electri6ity is.
