Guitar Volume

Hey, I was wondering how loud you guys generally record guitars at. Both clean and distorted. I realize different volumes affect guitar tone and such, but is there any advantages/disadvantages/differences with different amp volumes in the recording chain? Thanks

Well, I record direct using a Digitech RP50. I have the monitors in my studio (AKA kitchen) loud enough to get a little feedback when I need it.

The differences in amp volumes doesn't affect the recording chain as much as it affects the amp's tone. Play it so it sounds good, then record it.
