Guitar Tracks

Hi Everybody.
I was wondering how people recorded Guitar Tracks. Do you just play the whole guitar track fully in one take, or do you do sections and merge them all together?
I have tried to do the first way I mentioned, but it proved quite hard as the slightest mistake would mess up the whole take. Using sections, I found it hard to merge different parts of the song together. Can anybody help me here?

I typically prefer to do sections of a song and then merge them together, but usually in sequence. For example, part A is finsihed, so I'll restart just before that on a new track and come in like I never stopped. If instead, you do things nonsequentially, you can do what's called crossfading - look under the Audition help file for an explanation. If you want the live feel, especially with leads, breaking it up doesn't work so well.
