Guitar Tracks Pro

I'm just starting out with home recording on my PC and I'm looking to purchase guitar tracks pro. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this program, or is there another program that would be better for someone just starting out.
I play guitar and would be needing backing tracks ie; drums, bass, etc., then adding my guitar........
Any and all suggestions welcomed.

Welcome to the board...

Yes, I think Guitar Track Pro would be good for starting out. You may also look at Home Studio, or Music Creator... I never use them myself (I use SONAR 2.2XL). But I'm sure many member here will help you pick up the best for your suite...

Hi RVF.... welcome to the friendliest forum around.

I have been using GT Pro for about 10 months now and its excellent.

It sounds as though you want it for the same reasons I did. I am a guitarist and I import drum tracks (there are some good kits to start with bundled with the GT Pro software) and then record bass and guitar over it myself.

I dont know how much recording experience you have (I used to have analogue multi-trackers) but pc recording is the way to go for us axemen.

You will soon be making good quality recordings and becoming far more involved than straightforward drum/bass/guit recordings.

What type of soundcard do you have ?
What OS are you running?
How powerful is your PC?

I used GT Pro on my last pc which was only 600mhz processor ( I think) and a small hard disk and had no problems. I upgraded to this pc to get more tracks... I have used GT pro with Win 98 and XP Pro completely trouble free.

Welcome. GT Pro works well for me for guitars & fruity loops drum tracks. The user's manual is also very good.
