guitar tracks pro

im using guitar tracks pro as my software for home recording can any1 tell me a good way to setup the mixer on the software for the loudest possible volume with out causing clipping, because i can only seem to get anthing quiet but the mixer sliders are set to max. any help will be apriciated thanks

If the faders are all at max, and mix is not clipping and too soft, then the problem would seem to be the level that your are recording at. Everything in the recording process is dependant on the step before it, and it all starts with the recording itself. A bad recording will make mixing difficult. A bad mix will make mastering difficult. Bad mastering will make listening difficult (or even painful :D ).

Now, if by too soft, you mean the final mix is not comparable to commercial CD's, this may simply mean you need to apply some compression or limiting. Normally this would be done as part of the mastering process - after the mixing has been completed.
 
you can turn the trim up on each track, its right at the top of the mixer.

Essentially lowers the "peak levels" so that you can increase the volume of the entire track. (Limiting is essentially a severe form of compression, which prevents the volume from exceeding a certain point.)

Do a search, there are plenty of threads on this subject as well as numerous tutorials. Probably best to search the mixing/mastering forum.
 
i have guitar tracks 2 (for recording guitar stuff)
but you know....its gay cause cakewalk has a gay site.....it wont let me upgrade to GSPRO...it only lets me up to GSP3.....
im also finding out if i can upgrade frmo my music creator 2003 to sonar
 
im also experiencing another problem with this the first 7 tracks are fine but from 9 upwards i carn't seem to get to work i carn't find these channels on the mixer very and when i recorded on them there half the volume of tracks 1 - 7 can any1 help.
 
What version of GT are you using. From the Cakewalk web site, it would appear that GT2 is only cabable of 8 tracks:

Well, then I would assume it has the same limitations (or worse) that GT2 has.

Generally features get ADDED with newer versions, rather than taken away. For ex., GT3 does 32 tracks of audio I believe.
