Guitar tone? Yellow Ledbetter

The guitar tone? Good, but maybe a little bit boxy? I would have been happy with it myself. Great guitar playing!

Sounds pretty good. That kind of clean-electric tone is very subjective, so its hard to say whether its 'good' or not. The recording sounds good though. I'm not guitar expert, but it sounds like there may be some slight intonation problems with the guitar, and theres a few weird hiss sounds, like around 00:20 and 00:37. Sounds like a snare in the room vibrating. Did you record this with a drum kit in the room? Anyway, I pretty much hate Pearl Jam, but your recording didn't make me want to smash my speakers, so good job! :p
 
Thanks for the replies. It was recorded directly into the computer. Used the free SimulAnalog Suite plugins.

Greg - I think that's the reverb. I was recording with the levels too hot and I think I clipped slightly and that caused some weird effect with the reverb. :p
 
Is it me or does the guitar sound ever so slightly out of tune? Nice playing though.

It must be just you because that guitar is way out of tune. :p

sounds like you need a new nut or the old one needs work.

if it can't be tuned properly (just tuned and some notes are in while others are out), the intonation needs to be set along with all the other adjustments made in a setup.

Think I might just get a new guitar. I want a strat. You said you played a $70 Lotus. Do you know the model? Or where you got it?

Cause the sound of your guitar in that sample you gave me is exactly the kind of sound I'm going for. :(
