You post 3 mp3 with good punch on performance. On a guitar track with only drums, guitar is "on face". And (my opinion) metal zone or any boss or another drive/fuzz pedal (with no speaker simulator) plugged direct on a mixer/converter usualy has a bad sound .You can have much better results using an amp after metal zone and micing.

Either get a speaker sim like the sans amp, or mic your amp. All you need is an SM57 to get good results. The main thing is mic placement. You can read up about it in the recording techniques and guitar forums.

Sounds alright :). Grungy, kinda lo-fi feel.

I personally think more experimentation would get the most out of that kind of petal. For example, try the tiny amp under the garbage pail thing and mic that in different ways.

Or daisy chain a shitload of speakers together (dosn't exact matter what kind, just as long as they have character) and mic that up.

Or if you have some type of tube gear, run it through that, crank the shit out of it and see what kind of sounds you get.

And/or compress/limit the shit out of it, see what kind of sound you get.

The whole point being, get crazy with it. Make that petal sound out of this world. :)

I quite simply don't like plug & go metal distortion. They attempt to sim an overdriven tube amp & don't get there. Get a tube amp or preamp & drive it then add some character to it.
Of the three # 3 is the one I would bother with - it has some character & isn't a "shred" adjective.

Guys I have a Fender Hotrod Deluxe Tube amp. lol please stop shredding me I personally like this guitar tone over my guitar amp mic'ed tones. I have numerous 57s and 58s and all of that. idk but I was asking for your opinions not what I should do instead of this. tell me what you think of the tone, pleeeasse.

Everyone GAVE you their opinion on the sound. You asked for opinions, now you're asking people to stop "shredding" you??? Come on man...If all you wanted was compliments, you should just show it to friends and family.

You came into my thread and said the bass in my tune sounded "fake", even though it's a real bass. Instead of crying about being "shredded", I thanked youfor your input and will try to improve the sound. If you want people's opinions, be ready to get the truth about what they think.

It sounds a little thin to me. Of course in a mix with bass, drums etc... it might sound good.

I would like to hear more low end, or low mids maybe, I'm not sure.

I'm not shredding you by the way, just an honost opinion.

#2 wasn't bad but it sounded like an effect that happens before the 'real' guitars come in.

"ugly" and "square" distortion , is what you are hearing.

Not a bad sound but the guitar is still a bit thin. Maybe it would sit better with bass guitar, drums and louder vocals. In its present setting it doesn't have enough bottom end.

OK, don't get upset. Just giving the opinion on the sound. :)

I don't like the tone for metal tracks. Although, these tones would be great, turned down and behind other layers of instruments for pop rock and the new style synth and beat driven pop music.

We may be better than that, but how many other clips have you listened to?

Oh yeah, no rule that you have to listen, but don't get upset with anyone else...

Das, tone is bad, man!!! Your Fender has a "billion times better" sound. Put 57 or 58 close speakers and your sound will shine.
Or... if you like a more "on face" sound, try any amp modeling, like line 6 POD, or Yamaha, or even Behringer, or digitech ...
´Cause a distortion pedal before converter , like you show us , sorry...

You have convinced me to rerecord this song with my fender on clean. I am gonna see how it sounds. Ill make a new thread.

Nice, DAS... but you can record with drive channel too, nothing against!!!
