Can anyone suggest a good guitar tech in Orange County or L.A. area??? The last guy I took went to was terrible.

I'd look up Rick Turner. He used to be in Santa Monica down by the Federal building.

Rick is really mostly a builder. He is excellent, and a very smart, and very nice, guy. For repair, though, I would suggest McCabe's in Santa Monica.

What kind of work do you need done?
Several different things actually...I am pretty hard on guitars, and I have a pile of midrange guitars sitting with various problems like buzz above the 12th fret (an epi gothic LP, and standard)...EC-1000 with two loose frets and a mexi strat that needs a good set-up.

P.S.
I don't need a luthier, or any woodwork done...If I crack them I toss them. Mainly hardware, fret and set-ups.

Don't quote me but with Jim it would be about $75 for a set up which would include light fret work. He and his partner Ken usually get things out in a week or two. Vintage amps also.
