Guitar Recording Question

I was wondering if anyone knew if when tracking the lead guitar part if your supposed to center it in the mix, or if you supposed to pan it left and right....and are you supposed to center clean guitar or pan it at well....thank you....

This statement is kind of confusing. If you want to know how to mix when tracking, I'd say do what sounds right. If you can monitor the guitar you are tracking better through the left speaker by all means pan it. If it sounds better centered then don't pan. Make sure you are not recording in stereo when you do this or you will only record on one side of the stereo track.
When Mixing the recorded guitar with the other parts the same thing goes: do what sounds right. Sometimes I'll use two guitars for a song both panned hard left and right. Some times one accoustic will be at 2 oclock and a heavy dist. guitar will be quiet at 9 oclock. Anything goes...use your ears.
 
When ur tracking ANYTHING it doesn't matter how you pan it because after you finish tracking it, u can adjust the pan to whatever u want. if your asking how to pan when your mixing down or bouncing tracks thats something else... i usually put a lead in the center and one guitar in the left and another in the right... but as said before just use ur ears.... theres no rules; excpet to sound good...
