Guitar Re-amping

im trying to do re-amping,but something i don't know that if i need a DI box from soundcard's output to a guitar amp or effect pedal?
i record the direct guitar signal thru the preamp of a soundcard,
so how can it work right?
i want to record all guitar tracks and playback the track to get the best miking sound later!
 
i haven't tried myself, but you need a PASSIVE DI box working in reverse, so the impendence matches between your soundcard and your amp, or else you'll get a lot of noise.

there are also some reamp units, but the are pricey, maibe you could see if a local dealer has some for rent
 
If you are going to reamp often you really need a reamp box. I have this one and it'll DI and output to the amp during recording, then it'll switch to reamp... ensuring the correct levels
